On
our way to Gordes, we'll stop at the Bories (a gathering
of huts made of piling up of dry stones ... nothing to do with Stonehenge
though).
The Senanque Abbey is worth seeing too. It's a jewel
of Cistercian architecture nestled in lavender bushes.
-
Free
time for lunch in Gordes, considered as one of the prettiest French
villages. This village overlooks olive trees and vineyards.
-
Afternoon
spent in Roussillon ("Vicus Russeolus" of the
romans, which means red village) famous for its ochre (exported
overseas in the past). We'll visit the Ochre Conservatory and
Applied Pigment.
-
On
our way back, to cheer us up, we'll stop at a wine producer's, for
tasting "Côtes du Ventoux".
